History….February 1999, President Amparo Connors recognized a need, particularly in Queens, for a customized, flexible, temporary and permanent staffing service. To actualize a personalized commitment to excellence Amparo opened Allied Personnel Services, Inc. to embody the vision of a tailored staffing service. While remaining cost effective by providing a refined and rewarding experience, as when one chooses a boutique over a department store, we grew as much more than an employment agency. Grounded in relationships honed from twelve years in the personnel placement industry, and additional staffing partnerships we’ve developed for over eighteen years, diverse NYC area corporations range from very small entities to publicly traded international firms. Amparo Connors relishes being “a people person and talent connector”. In 1968 Amparo Diaz emigrated from Colombia to Queens, where she has continued to live and work since. She graduated from Queens College, continuing a career in retail buying and merchandising. 1987 she was lured by a new career as Personnel Consultant at an employment agency in Forest Hills. Amparo developed a specialization in Apparel and Real Estate staffing within Queens and Nassau. After twelve years in the industry, recognizing the need for a more humanistic and personalized approach to personnel placement, she established her own staffing company, Allied Personnel Services, Inc.
Since 1999 Amparo has realized her own American Dream by conducting her business along principles of utmost honesty with clients and personnel, placing value in relationships, and maintaining a sense of great faith and confidence in her company and staff.
A proud Latina Immigrant and US Citizen, as founder and sole proprietor, Amparo focuses on people and their needs. Thus the primary motivator is SERVICE, enhanced by networking, community and knowledge. Living the motto “Whatever you give comes back ten-fold”, Amparo is an active member of the Queens Chamber of Commerce, Gotham Networking Inc.,Adrian’s Network and serves as 2nd VP of the North Bellerose Civic Association. A founding board member of the Health and Business Alliance, she also served as a board member for the New York Staffing Association, the Josephine Foundation, and continues to serve as Class Rep for The Mary Louis Academy Alumnae Association. She is a proud Queens resident with a great love for New York City and its dynamic people.
